Supporting Potential and Achievement in Remarkable Kids
Advanced students in grades third through fifth have the opportunity to participate in the S.P.A.R.K. program. The program’s goal is to challenge students who have met the identification criteria based on report card grades, teacher recommendation, Sages, district benchmark and NJSLA scores. S.P.A.R.K. students receive instruction that is differentiated in content and process, while encouraging creative problem solving. Third grade students work independently, researching different destinations around the world broadening their understanding of many diverse cultures. The fourth grade students use investigative problem solving skills as they dive into the world of forensics. Fifth grade students are researching and developing an understanding of the invention process while creating their own inventions. In addition to the curriculum requirements, students enhance their studies with board games, logic problems and escape room challenges that create a rigorous, collaborative, and higher order learning environment.
