Miss Abdelaal

Hello! My name is Miss Abdelaal and I am a kindergarten teacher here at Columbus Elementary. I am very excited about the 2022-2023 school year! We will be learning and growing so much in kindergarten!

We use the Tools of the Mind literacy curriculum, which follows Jack and Annie through the magic treehouse series. Students then get the opportunity to bring the story to life through their message and dramatization. I-Ready is our math curriculum for whole group instruction as well as student-tailored lessons online.

Here is a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in South Jersey, then moved up to Lawrencville for college. I attend Rider University where I double majored in Elementary education and multidisciplinary studies with a concentration, in English and a minor in early childhood education. In college, I was a part of organizations such as SEA (student education association) and KDP (the education honor society). Being a member of these organizations helped me gain further knowledge about childhood education and teaching techniques. This is my second year as a kindergarten teacher. Last year I taught kindergarten in Newark, NJ, which helped me gain a lot of experience and insight on the differentiation of different level learners in the classroom. In my free time I love to travel, read, and spend time with family and friends.

If you ever need to reach me, please feel free to contact me, dabdelaal@carteretschools.org or you can message me on our class dojo page.

I am looking forward to an amazing school year!

-Best,

Miss Abdelaal
