Parent University Mission
Parent University Mission
At Carteret Public Schools we believe parents and caregivers play a critical role in the development of work habits, character traits and academic achievement. Research shows that parents can increase their child’s success by being involved in their school and community. Supporting their learning, acting as models for lifelong learning and advocating, are all ways that families can ensure their child’s achievement.
Parent University is a program of course offerings and resources to help caregivers become full partners in their child’s education. Through a series of mini-workshops and our video library, parents will be empowered to serve as advocates for their children, while interacting and learning with other adults to reach their own personal growth.
Courses will be available through Live 30-minute Zoom sessions, and for busy parents who would like to go on at their own leisure, they can access recordings of the sessions or view the many brief 15-minute video clips we will offer in our video library.
The aim of Parent University is to help YOU, the parent, become the best version of yourself. Not only will you learn how to help your support your child, but you will also have a safe space where you can share your thoughts, find ways to relieve stress with the help of specialists, improve your health with exercise and nutritionists, or just try something new like painting or crafting. This program will allow you to engage with other parents, while learning and participating in enjoyable activities geared just for adults.
Join us…. as we work to help our entire school community be the best it could be.
Be a part of Carteret Schools Parent University.
