In this MATH class, we are:

    Mindful of our behavior

    Actively participating in our education

    Thoughtful in our responses

    Hardworking for our success

    Classroom Expectations

    1. Always try your personal best and accept responsibility for your learning. Please keep in mind that everyone’s personal best is different, even yours from day to day! All we ask is that you try your best and take accountability for your learning. Never get discouraged in this class. You will succeed as long as you believe you can!  We will be here to help you as long as you try your best!

    2. Support and be considerate of your classmates’ education. Class time is reserved for exploring and learning concepts.  During instruction, try not to ask to go to the bathroom or get a drink, for it is possible you may miss a concept.  Try to ask to go during independent work-time. Be mindful of your behaviors as they may distract your peers.

    3. Respect every person and all property of the classroom. Regardless of the reason or purpose, refrain from touching, hitting, throwing objects or stealing from another student. Name-calling, “dissing,” insults and profanity will not be tolerated.  This classroom is a positive learning environment.  We are to support each other in the learning process, not discourage each other. In addition, please return all materials to where they belong and be honest if you have accidentally broken or borrowed something without permission.

    4. Be prepared and on time on a daily basis. For maximum learning, students should be in class prepared with the necessary materials to work efficiently and effectively.   This includes: assignments, writing utensils, textbook, notebook and folder.  You will not be permitted to leave class to get materials or homework from your locker or other classrooms. Please have all materials ready before the lesson to avoid distractions or lack of focus.

    5. Follow all Carteret Junior High School rules and guidelines.
