Drama Club
In Carteret Middle School’s first musical theatre club, this year known as “Highlights”, students learned different musical numbers, including singing and dancing, from different hit Broadway shows! This is the pilot into building into a full Musical Theatre Production in 2020-2021.
The year began with demo classes and workshops in October and the club was underway with rehearsals from the beginning of January to mid-March with 25 students in grades 6-8.
Students participated in a singing and dancing audition and then participated in various rehearsals exploring different styles of choreography spanning the decades. Students also researched and explored monologue and duet scripts and recitations, and began to explore certain stage terminology.
