My Education and Professional Background

I started my undergraduate work at Montclair State University. I graduated with honors majoring in Family and Child Studies, with a concentration in Elementary Education. During my time at Montclair, I completed a very thorough track to become a certified teacher in New Jersey. I passed the state exam, and graduated with a Bachelor of the Arts degree, certified to teach grades K-5. 

After I graduated from Montclair, I started my teaching career at St. Joseph School in Carteret as a fourth grade teacher. I taught there for almost four full years as a fourth grade teacher and had a really wonderful experience as I started my foundational years in my teaching career. While I was working there, I finished earning my Masters Degree in Special Education from Kean University. 

The year I finished my Masters Degree, I started working for the Carteret School District as an In-Class Resource Teacher at Nathan Hale in fourth grade. I have worked in the district at numerous schools over the years, including Nathan Hale, Columbus, Middle School and now our Junior High!

I'm currently in my thirteenth year of teaching!  I am excited about my new position as a Reading Intervention Teacher, and I hope to connect and grow with my students. 🤗

My Educational Philosophy

I have always believed in creating an environment that fosters the importance of learning and a strong work ethic. I will teach and expect every child to learn the importance of integrity, compassion, kindness, and leadership. My students will combine the importance of learning with the value of strong character to become contributors in all areas of their lives.
