Miss Kolb
Future 5th graders and families, welcome to classroom 119!! My name is Ms. Kolb and I will be your child's English Language Arts teacher this year. This is my second year teaching Fifth grade, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher. I love building classroom communities and helping students develop a lifelong passion for reading and writing. My goal as an educator is to create an engaging and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and inspired to explore different texts and develop their writing skills.
A little bit about me is that I grew up a few towns over in Iselin, New Jersey. I graduated from Rider University in Lawrenceville where I studied and received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and multidisciplinary studies of English. While in college, I truly discovered my passion for helping students grow and believing in themselves and that has only grown more since teaching at Carteret Middle School. When I am not teaching, I love to travel and read at the beach. Fun fact, my senior year of college I was able to study abroad in London and Scotland and learn about the different education systems in the UK.
Attached is the link to our Google Classroom. This is where our classes will find homework and additional resources for our class. At the end of each week, I update your child's grades, and it can be accessed on Parent Portal and the Student Portal.
I am looking forward to an amazing school year!
