Mrs. Stephanie Keller

Hello and Welcome to 5th Grade Math!!

My name is Mrs. Stephanie Keller and I am so honored to be your child’s fifth grade math teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. It is an absolute privilege to be able to work with your child this year. Just a little about myself: I will be beginning my fifteenth year in the Carteret School District. I am previously from Nathan Hale School where I taught both fourth and fifth grade. I absolutely love math and I hope I can bring or grow that love in your child as well. As we begin the school year, we embrace the promise of new changes, growth and opportunity before us. This year is a huge change not only for our 5th grade students, but for myself as well. This change for them will require them to be more responsible and independent very quickly. I, as well as my fifth grade team, will be here to support them in any way possible to help ease this transition. I am very excited for what this year brings, as it will be a new experience for all of us. We are 100% in this together!

5th grade math works to build on many concepts that students already have learned such as multi-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will also work this year to extend the four operations to decimals and fractions. One of the best ways to help your student at home is with fact fluency. We will be kicking off the year with volume of third dimensional figures! Students will be receiving homework on concepts we are learning in class. Homework may not be given every night, however, be on the lookout for it most nights of the week.
