Ms. Tosk

Hello, my name is Shari Tosk.  I have been teaching ESL in Carteret public schools since 1988.  I have worked in Columbus and Nathan Hale Schools, and now I am at Private Nicholas Minue Elementary School.  I work with students in grades K-5 in small groups to improve students' skills in English.  I also utilize the Orton-Gillingham reading method for struggling readers.

I was raised in Bayonne, New Jersey.  I went to New York University's School of Education and graduated in 1981. I received my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Kean University in 1995.  I taught ESL at the Rutgers Newark P.A.L.S. program and accent reduction at UMDNJ.  I also taught ESL to adults at the New York Public Libraries through the Riverside Church, and more recently, at the South Brunswick Public Library.  I moved to San Francisco for five years, where I worked for PacBell during the divestiture.  I also tutored through San Francisco State College and privately.  Additionally, I am an experienced Holocaust educator, having been trained at mjhnyc.org, ushmm.org and yadvashem.org.

I have two children, Matthew and Maya.  My hobbies include crafting, reading, listening to live music and travelling.

I look forward to working with you and your children!!
