Welcome to 3rd grade!! My name is Allyson Thompson and I am a graduate of Kean University. I have been a teacher at Columbus School for 25 years. 

I grew up in Carteret and even attended Columbus School so this school and town have a very special place in my heart. 

I am married to my wonderful husband, Kevin and have a son, Dominic who is a junior at Rider University studying Accounting and Finance.

Family is very important to me and when your child comes to my room they become my family. I try to make them feel comfortable and safe so they open up and take risks in learning and in their social emotional growth. I want them to enjoy coming to school and learning exciting new things each day. 

I enjoy both reading and running. I feel a good balance between the peacefulness of reading a great book and the exhilaration of a great run is important to feeling your best in mind, body and soul. I like to instill this into my students so that they can feel great inside and outside as well.
