David Salvatore

David Salvatore graduated from Carteret High School. He then worked in industry for 17 years prior to becoming a teacher. Mr. Salvatore attended Middlesex County College where he earned his Associate of Applied Science Degree.  He continued his education at Kean University earning his Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and his Master of Arts in Educational Administration.  He has been involved in education for 29 years.   Mr. Salvatore is starting his 24th year working in Carteret. Before becoming an educator, he served two terms on the Carteret Board of Education (1991-1996). He started as a Technology Teacher in 1996, became Dean of Students in 2000 before being promoted to Assistant Principal in 2003.  Mr. Salvatore currently serves the district as the High School Principal.  The High School has recently achieved Middle States Accreditation (MSA-CESS - Spring 2019) for the first time in 20 years.  Mr. Salvatore also has a passion for coaching.  He served as the Carteret High Schools Head Soccer Coach, Bishop George Ahr Softball Coach, and Head Softball Coach of New Jersey City University.  He is currently coaching softball with the elite travel program New Jersey Breakers in his 41st year.

Ms. Chris Rozanski

Chris Rozanski began her career with Carteret Public Schools in 2005, beginning as a social worker on the child study team for the Department of Special Services at Carteret Middle School. In 2007, she transitioned to a position as a school-based social worker for all three elementary schools. The following year, Ms. Rozanski joined the Columbus School faculty full-time, initially as a school-based social worker, then became the vice-principal in 2012.  Ms. Rozanski transferred to Carteret High School in the Fall of 2016, where she currently serves as a vice-principal.  Ms. Rozanski serves on the District Crisis Team, oversees the high school I&RS Team, the high school ESS program, and is the AP coordinator. Ms. Rozanski graduated with a BA in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Hobart & William Smith Colleges, then went on to complete an MSW at Rutgers University.  She also completed her Ed.S in Educational Administration, Leadership, Management, and Policy at Seton Hall University.

Dr. Karen Jones

Karen Jones joined Carteret Public Schools in 2015 and currently serves as a vice principal at Carteret High School. As a 24 year veteran in the field of education, Dr. Jones has worked as an administrator in the Camden School District in NJ and the Chester-Upland School District in PA. Dr. Jones has also served as a turn-around specialist and a consultant for a number of years. Dr. Jones works intensively with the JAG and AVID programs at CHS. When possible, she also enjoys  being a volunteer with the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools. Dr. Jones graduated with a B.A. in Elementary Education and M.Ed in Educational Administration and Supervision from Howard University, in Washington, D.C. and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Stockton University.
