Mr. Younghans grew up in South Amboy and graduated from St. Joseph HS Metuchen in 2003. He went to St. Michael's College in Vermont where he graduated with a BS in Mathematics and a Secondary Education Teaching License. He began his teaching career in the Vermont public school system where he taught Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calc to middle and high school students for 4 years. Mr. Younghans then moved to Chicago where he taught at two inner-city charter high schools for the next 8 years, while also earning a Masters degree in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He returned to New Jersey in the summer of 2019 to be closer to his family and friends. He has taught special education/math at Carteret High School since September of 2019. Mr. Younghans loves running, basketball, skiing, hiking, reading, and dogs (especially his dog, Olive, pictured here).
