Carteret High School Band Program
The Carteret High School Band program serves those students interested participating in instrumental music. Open to students of all grade levels, the band program functions as an integral part of both Carteret High school and the Borough of Carteret. The only requirement for participation in either of these ensembles is previous training on a musical instrument, and even that can be waived for a motivated student.
As part of the Carteret High School curriculum, the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band are offered to students as full-year classes. Each band meets for one full class period, five days a week, for the entirety of the school year. The major performances for these bands are a Winter Concert, Spring Concert, and the CHS Commencement Ceremony (graduation).
Our extra-curricular bands really shine at Carteret High School. These bands include our Championship winning Marching Band, our Jazz Band, and our Rock-n-Roll Show Band. Offered outside of regular school hours, participation in these bands is completely voluntary on the part of our students, and not dependent on participation in the Concert Band or Wind Ensemble.
The Band Program at Carteret High School as a long and storied history of success and excellence. We of the band program are proud to carry on this tradition.
As our motto says:
Excellence in ALL we do
(State Education Commissioner Lamont Repollet with Superintendent Rosa Diaz and Members of the CHS Marching Band)
